Lloyd’s Wharf
SWC worked with social enterprise Raybel Charters to create future design proposals for Lloyd’s Wharf in Sittingbourne, Kent.
The Raybel team introduced us to the site’s complex landscape that
hold’s within it rich ecology, deep layers of history and significant social meaning.
With this in mind, we endeavoured to create a proposal which could further educate locals about the history and ecology of the area, create opportunities for different communities to meet and gather, reinstate the industry of Lloyd’s Wharfs’ boatyard and further expand the food growing opportunities of the site. This is all within context of considering the effects rising sea levels will have on the area.
