LFA Welcome to Warren Street 2024
Welcome to Warren Street was an urban revitalisation project created in collaboration with Sandwich Club and Narrative Practice. Shortlisted for the London Festival of Architecture competition, we aimed to activate Warren Street while tackling pollution and anti-social behaviour.
Central to our approach was community engagement. We initiated the design process with a comprehensive consultation day, gathering insights from Warren Street's diverse inhabitants. Partnering with local bakery Miel, we incentivised participation with free coffee tokens, fostering a culture of exchange.
Our research captured the perspectives of residents, business owners, workers, students, and tourists, guiding our design narrative focused on community empowerment. Our proposal featured inclusive and sustainable elements such as planter-poly tunnels and a community greenhouse, aligning with the area's future plans for Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS).
